Have you ever wondered what it would be like to step into a blacksmith’s forge with your coworkers? Imagine the sound of hammers striking hot iron, sparks flying, and your team creating something lasting together. Our Corporate Blacksmithing Experience, hosted by Julian D. Williams Blacksmith & Co. LLC, offers just that — a hands-on team-building event rooted in history, craftsmanship, and collaboration.

This is more than a workshop — it’s an unforgettable journey that blends creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork in a way your group has never experienced before.

What to Expect

Our corporate program is designed as a two-day immersive experience for up to 30 participants (15 each day) at Ma Daisy’s Porch, just outside Charleston.

Here’s a snapshot of what your team will enjoy:

  • Hands-On Forging: Create your own hand-forged oyster shuck to keep as a symbol of teamwork and craft.

  • Expert Guidance: Learn directly from lead blacksmith Julian D. Williams and his team of assistant smiths.

  • Small-Group Rotations: Work in groups of 5 through different forging stations for personalized, hands-on instruction.

  • Team Reflection: Close each day with a showcase of completed work, group photos, and shared celebration.

Duration: 4.5–5.5 hours per dayInvestment: $200 per participant ($6,000 total for 30 people)

Safety & Support

Your team’s safety is our top priority. We provide all safety equipment — gloves, glasses, and aprons — as well as professional-grade tools and forges. Each session is staffed by:

  • 1 Lead Blacksmith Instructor

  • 2 Assistant Smiths

  • 1 Logistics Support Floater

First-aid supplies, fire extinguishers, and ventilation are included to ensure a secure and enjoyable environment.

Why Choose a Blacksmithing Team-Building Experience?

Unlike traditional corporate retreats, this experience is:

  • Rooted in Heritage: Connect with Charleston’s rich tradition of blacksmithing.

  • Hands-On & Memorable: Every participant creates something lasting with their own hands.

  • Team-Oriented: Small group rotations encourage communication and problem-solving.

  • Symbolic: The forged oyster shuck becomes a reminder of craftsmanship, teamwork, and growth.

This is not just a retreat — it’s a way to build confidence, camaraderie, and creativity while honoring history and tradition.
